The Mini “Luv Your Man” Challenge
Return the fun! and recapture the romance that made you and your husband fall in love in the first place. The book titled “The Husband Project” provides 21 days of fun (and quick) activities to show love and honor to your husband. For our mini “Luv Your Man” challenge, you commit to do fun and flirty things for 5 days – things like love notes on the bathroom mirror or a simple word of praise – and you’ll check in to let me know that you completed the task – maybe even discuss or brainstorm new ideas for others to try!
I’ve been married for 12 years and I will be the first to tell you – it ain’t always easy. BUT during one of our more challenging times I read several books like this one and put them into practice and realized how simple things CAN put the marriage back on the front burner and start cooking again. (And I realize this is not always true but…) I also realized it works much better when not practiced in “emergency mode”! So let’s don’t delay and get started with the fun…
For the sake of not being distracted by the holiday… we will start the challenge on the Tuesday after Easter and I’ll post the tasks both on the facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/lifesimages) and my blog (http://blog.lifesimages.com)
You’ll be asked to comment under the task itself and at the very least let us know you’ve completed the task. Feel free to tell us what you chose to do, how it went, or suggestions for furthering the fun! The prizes will be awarded after 5 days are complete and will be drawn out of those that participated every day.
Concerns I had – and you may have too:
What has he done for me lately?
I learned the hard way that marriage can’t work like that – someone has to be first. And if you start acting out of love you won’t have tally marks but it will come back to you. You can’t say I tried this or that and he didn’t respond – that’s not a productive mentality – you try this and that because you love him, not to get a response :)
He doesn’t deserve it!
Love is not something you give when deserved :) Plain and simple! My kids don’t deserve a toy or a treat some days - but they are loved 24/7 – that’s called unconditional and marriage is the same way. It is harder than it sounds – but doing these simple things as a project or challenge makes them easier to do!
Some info about the book – The Husband Project
Most women want to do nice things for their husbands… Why do you need a book to do them?
We all have great intentions, but life has a way of getting busy and distracting. It is the same with the husband project – all the ideas are pretty simple, but the projects just lay it out so that it is easy to do.
We are doing only 5 simple activities, but the book contains 21 days of fun activities to show love and honor to your husband. Author Kathi Lipp will help you discover:
- Proven ways to return fun and flirting to your marriage.
- Inner assurance to meet your husband’s unspoken emotional needs.
- Increased confidence when it comes to meeting your husbands sexual needs.
- New levels of warmth and tenderness in your relationship.
- A deeper sense of security with your husband.
- A greater ability to boost your husband’s belief in himself.
The Husband Project is like a workout program for your marriage – only with less sweat and more chocolate. You commit to do fun and flirty things for 21 days to raise the temperature of your marriage – everything from flirty notes on the bathroom mirror to more lingerie in the bedroom. It is a little bit of work – and a whole lot of fun.
OH WAIT – did someone say prizes??
Yes – one person will win “The Husband Project” and one person will win a photo session for YOU (not the kiddos this time!)
and I’d probably be inclined to give out consolation prizes :)
